Trip Report: Halfway Highlights

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Elrods Go Disney reporting from Walt Disney World on this wonderfully hot and sunny day in Orlando, Florida! We are currently on day five (wow, this week is flying by!) of our vacation. We have been having a blast, but at a much different pace than we are used to, since Jack is right at 15 months. I thought for today I would just give a little trip report update to let you know a little bit about what we’ve done! Maybe you have been keeping up with us on our Elrods Go Disney Facebook fan page and already know. 😉

Friday we arrived around noon. Check in went smoothly and we got our room within fifteen minutes of arriving! It’s a second floor, pool-side room in the left Calypso building at All-Star Music. It has a king bed and larger bathroom than we’ve had before.

So far we’ve had dinner with Mickey Mouse at Chef Mickey’s, gotten Jack’s first haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom, rode Toy Story Mania (twice!) and ate at Mama Melrose in Hollywood Studios, and gotten great views of amazing wild life at Animal Kingdom! Oh yeah, and we still have three more full days here! I have already been brewing on so many posts I want to make about this trip when we get back; I can’t wait to share it with you all!

For now, though, I’ll leave you with some trip highlights from each of us.

Tim’s trip highlight: Breakfast at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge this morning. The food was fantastic, but the service was even better! Our server’s name was Albert. He was from Jamaica and was so friendly and helpful, and he went over the top to give us a wonderful Disney breakfast experience…including a free breakfast Anniversary dessert for Tim and I.

Malorie’s trip highlight: Seeing my boy get his first haircut on Main Street U.S.A. I WILL be designating a whole post to this, so get ready. Priceless.

Jack’s trip highlight: Meeting the characters. Hands down. He loves them all and lights up when he see’s them. We love seeing the look on his face. As a parent, it’s like being on Cloud 9 to see your kid so happy.

I hope you are having a great week, as well!! See you tomorrow for another [Almost] Wordless Wednesday.
